Of course you're welcome here...
A common mistake on websites is using the words “welcome” or “welcome to my website,” in the main title or in the first lines of text on the top of the home page. Of course people are welcome here, why else would you go to all the trouble.  The main title of your site is your prime corner of real estate, use it wisely to inform people of what you do and better still how...

Don't make me guess!
When it comes to websites one of the most often made mistakes is making people guess who you are and what you do.  A web surfer who has to ponder the nature of your business will quickly grow tired and click out.  Make sure it is clear without having to look around, who you are, what you do and how to get in touch with you.

Bad Design is a Bad Thing...
Well I was going to write an article about this… but to be honest, why belabor the point.  When it comes to Websites, Business Cards, Brochures, and marketing pieces Bad Design is a Bad Thing.  When it comes to graphic design it is best to spend a few dollars and hire a pro.

Its not Negative to have Negative Space...
White space is a necessity in the world of graphic design.  Many Websites, brochures, business cards, Facebook Company pages and even blogs, suffer from a lack of negative or white space… it is best not to fill every bit of space on a page… overcrowding or clutter makes the eye tired quickly… a bit of white space is a positive thing that will set off your content and message.

Institutional vs. Classified Advertising
Ask yourself next time you run an ad or create a marketing piece, will this piece be Institutional ( purpose name/brand recognition) or Classified (hoping to sell something).  You will be happier with your result if you decide what the pieces purpose is in advance. Some mediums are better for one than the other… Craig’s list tends to be best for Classified (selling products), radio ads...

The Size of A Company is Not Measured by Its...
You don’t have to be a big company to have a big company brand, just carry your primary images across your website, blog, Facebook, Twitter, print pieces and signage. Do this and stand back and watch as people accept your small business as a large firm.

Less is More....
When it comes to Websites, less is more… try to tell the story with pictures instead of words… keep text to a minimum, add sub-pages so people can drill down for more detail if they want it. People don’t read the web, they surf the web.

Graphic Design 3 Common Mistakes
3 common mistakes made on photos for business cards, websites, blogs… 1. Wearing a hat that shades the eyes….people do business with people they like and trust… trust requires eye contact. 2. Having the person in the picture looking away from the text… we follow peoples eyes… if you are looking away from your prime message, people will follow your eyes off the...
